My Resignation

Come 31st Jan 2008, I will say Goodbye to MAS. When I was out of AirAsia, I thought I wanna make MAS as my resting place. But, that thought lasted only 4 months from the day I join MAS which was 27th Jun 2005. I was head hunted by many new airlines to help them to set=up an airline. Wow, I didn’t know that the little experience that I gathered from setting-up AirAsia have caused this? I’ve asked all six airlines this question; "What makes you think I’m capable of doing what you want me to do?" The answer was; "Your name was recommended to us by many" Of-course my next question was "Who?". Their answer was "Capt, you don’t have to know".
I said earlier six airline offered me to set-up an airline for them, three were Malaysian and the other three were from Cebu, Manila and Osaka. I’ve turned down the three Malaysian companies and till now they are not airborne yet. The three foreign airlines I did not turned them down but I agreed to be their unofficial ‘Cheap’ consultant. All those three foreign airlines are airborne now.
Now, for the 7th time, I’m being offered again to set-up an airline. The interview was conducted two weeks before fasting month 2007 at Sri Hartamas Square over a cup of teh tarek and two roti kosong. The two owner were babling about their business plans and I was busy enjoying my roti canai. "Capt, you seems not interested to listen and we think we know why" Said one of the partner. He bend down to reach for his briefcase and took out a peace of paper which says "Air Service Permit for Global Air". I immediately put down my fork and spoon on my roti canai, push it aside, place my teh tarek infront of me, light my Saemporna Hijau, took a deep puff and said to the two partner, "Can we start all over again please".
They said, "…….Global Air ………. 2 x B767 ……… 6 x B777 …….. 4 x business jets ……………..Tourism Airline …………….Umrah…………. Hadj ……….China ………Jeddah ……… Medinah ……… Europe ………… not in malaysia…………2015 ………….1st ……. Leasing company……. Head of Flight Operations……..Feb 2008…"
"Give me a week for an answer."  They agreed. When I reached home I told Afizah about it, she smile and said "how do you feel this time honey?" I said "I think I wanna do Solat Istikharah untill Allah say something to me"
That night I started my Solat Istikharah and every morning Afizah will ask me any news from god and my answer were no until the 7th morning. I told her, "I dream t something last night"  She asked "What?"  I said. "Well, I  dream t that I was cleaning our fish pond and I had to transfer all the ‘Koi’ to another container before I could  clean it. In that dream we somehow have another pond. The weired  thing was I removed all our 27 kois with my bare hand with just one scoop. After cleaning the pond, I decided that I would wanna move the kois to their original pond." Both of us were silence for a good five minutes. Then, out of nowhere both of us said ‘HIJRAH’  simultaneously.
Later in the day I called the two bosses and said, "I’m in" and they said "Thank you so much"
So, on the 1st of November I’ve tendered my resignation with a three month notice and my last day would be 31st Jan 2008.

Bye MAS.
Hello Global Air.
