Be Thankful

Familiar with these comments?

"I’ve work harder than him/her. In 12 years working with MAS I’ve never reported sick. I’ve never MIA for flight. Maybe I reported late for few flights, but, flight when on time. But why he/she got 1 month bonus and I get half month?"

"I contributed to the company as much as he/she did, but, why he/she got 10 lots of ESOS?"

"Haiya…. put la whoever to be CEO or MD in MAS, it will never change ba. Once these people make money for their own pocket, they will chow lor…"

My comment;

I don’t want to comment about what the management are doing. What I can see is MAS is doing just fine since Idris Jala took over contractually. Changes cannot be achieve overnight. It needs hard work. Further more Idris Jala’s team arms are also tied by certain parties.
Why are we complaining? When was the last time we get bonuses? When was the last time MAS make money?
Guys, bonuses and ESOS are not our entitlement. We are lucky that the company gave us something. If the company decides to give us RM10, who are we to say anything?
Guys, at stations, stop complaining. You guys are lucky that you are not working in KUL where the amount of pressure are so great you can get hypertension.

My advise to you guys are:

To my MAS friends:

1.  Be thankful that you have a job with a national carrier.
2.  If you are not happy, please leave. There are many companies who wants ex-MAS staff and ever willing to take you in.
3.  If you are being calculative of your work than others will be calculative to you to.
4.  Save RM1 a day.
5.  Ensure that you have at least made one guest happy everyday.
6.  Know the company’s product very well because you are actually the company’s ‘Sales Executive’, so start selling our product.

To my non-MAS friends:

1.  Stop talking about things that you do not have facts about.
2.  If you think that Idris Jala should step down, can you name one to replace him excluding yourself?
3.  If you are not happy with MAS please do not fly with us.
4.  If you are not happy with MAS but you are so cheap to fly with us because your ticket is either free, rebated or you don’t have a choice, we will still welcome you with a smile because our cabin crew are the best in the world voted by skytrack.

‘SAFE, NATIONALIST, ON-TIME, EFFICIENT

    MAS..
Walau dlm flight “Minum Air Saja”..
Plus organization yang “Mana Ada System”..
    Tapi crewnye..”Mesti Ada Style”..

I dont mind spending half of my gaji..or save RM 1 a day just to fly with MAS..coz MAS cabin crew are the BEST in the world..

Like what Cpt Razlah said..be thankful..Ramai yang berangan nak join MAS tapi tak dapat.. :(

Be Thankful, Be Grateful, Dont Bite the Hands that Feeds you (and your family). In short…..these are the few values that most employees lack. Remember the day we first got that chance to join the company and get our very own staff ID? That first pay-slip? The smile on our families face when we got the job? Be grateful and thankful that we still do have all these. Its not all about the money, and its not all about u and this life ain’t a love song too.

MAS is under my coverage of stock. So,basically I know the operations.Sometimes..company cant control bonus and ESOS.How could you possibly evaluate each staff especially for company as big as MAS.The basis of evaluation is another thing that can be questioned. To me,it’s not Idris Jala’s fault. He did a great job to turnaround MAS, which was not easy given the participation of Government. So far,he never failed to deliver what he said.Look at MAS share price now. It’s outstanding. If investors have faith in Idris Jala, why MAS employees are complaining?…

Agree with Mr Nazar’s comment, Malaysian Airlines has the BEST cabin crews. Could be the Malaysian hospitality and professionalism (which I think is true). They take pride in what they do inflight. As a flight crew, dealing with passengers is something not to be taken lightly. Lucky you guys have flight attendants to `take care’ of the pax and their delicate nature in `demanding’ great in-flight `services’ out of an airline. Try flying KLM or SAS….you cant get anything more than a grin and a tray of `airline food’. They seem to be running around doing something else than take care of pax needs. On MAS flights, the cabin’s service has an average of 9.5 (out of 10) any time any where. Be it Lbu-Bki or Kul-Stockholm….they are there for u.

    Hmm…About bonus & gaji..
    Itu rezki masing-masing..

Newcomers get higher salary than me..Arrgghhh!!Tensionnye!! Hmm..cant do anything..It’s happened every where la..not just in MAS..

For some reason..people stay..maybe because of good environment..good team mates..event though not getting good pay..

Not worth it la getting higher pay and at the same time getting high blood pressure..

Ask Captain Razlah..What makes him stay?

    Why I’m not leaving? Hmm..good question.. ;P

So far so Good….y should we leave.people upstairs comes and go. We r at the end of the chain, we provide what the organisation offers to its customers. I am proud to be just that, get paid well beyond the average wage earners in this country. Its just business.

Be grateful of what we have. Been with MAS almost 3 years…although rather new, I am happy with what I have. Used to get ex-gratia of only RM100…at least can buy me and my wife a good Kenny Rogers meal. Siapa mau bagi RM100, even if you buy Magnum4D won’t guarantee you anything.

ESOS or BONUS…? I don’t know…or rather reserve my comment. “Hal orang tua tak nak tau.”

So far after 2 years plus, the only time that I can recall my salary came out late was if I’m not mistaken last December. Otherwise it is always on time everytime but not most of the time for the transport…opps.

But I’m happy. Spent 1 year 9 months on 734 now I am on the Airbus 330.

What ever it is…learn to appreciate things. You’ll learn as you go along….
